Meet the People

David Pardieck, M.D. - General Surgeon

Dr. Pardieck has been in private practice in the Lowcountry for over 32 years. A General Surgeon with strong roots in his community, Dr. Pardieck began the Lowcountry Hernia Center to enhance the care for hernia patients and to perfect his repair techniques. He has published articles in medical journals on hernias, presented at conferences on Sports Medicine, and is trained in the latest techniques of hernia surgery. He is a charter member of the American Hernia Society, established in 1998. Since 1997, Dr. Pardieck has performed over 2600 hernia repairs. His hernia patients experience a less than .5% recurrence rate.

Dr. Pardieck has celebrated over 40 years of marriage to his wife Rita, with whom he has four children and two grandsons. He is an avid golfer and a photographer. In his off time, he enjoys running his small business Pardieck Photography, where you may catch him and his lowcountry scenes at art shows and craft fairs around the Charleston area.



Rosie Soderlund - Office Manager

Rosie has worked in the medical field since 1973. She has handled crises in the ER and brings with her a broad working knowledge of medicine, as one who has "seen it all". She sets appointments and handles insurance, and ensures that our patients are well taken care of. She has worked with Dr. Pardieck since the opening of the Hernia Center in 1997.

Rosie is married with four children and four grandchildren. She loves to take vacations in the mountains and spend time with her little ones.



Rachel Hazelwood - Transcriptionist, Massage Therapist

Dr. Pardieck's daughter Rachel has been his medical transcriptionist since '95. She manages the web site and occasionally works the front office. Also a Massage Therapist, Rachel is owner/operator of Healing Hands Massage & Bodywork. She is available in the office and at her main location West Ashley by appointment for massage. She has been married since 2007 and has a son named James.
